

Hi, I'm Charlie. Personal Trainer & Zumba Instructor
Hello, my name is Charlie and I am the front man of Charlie Long Fitness and I have been a personal trainer for the past ten years.
I started my fitness journey like anyone else, going to a gym and not knowing what to do or how to do a think so I enlisted the help of a Personal Trainer when I trained back in Winners Torquay. I asked my PT how he got into the role as I always knew I wanted to help the public in someway and help them find fulfilment in their achievements. Becoming a Personal Trainer myself felt like the right move. I liked training and wanting to help other with theirs aligned with my goals in life.


My Story
A bit more about me and my background, I did gymnastics at County level for Nottinghamshire and then swimming at County level for Devon. When I turned the great age of 18 I discovered the night club scene and my passion for dancing (which has been with me since childhood) started to make its’ presence known. This took me back to college after becoming a personal trainer and I took my Exercise To Music qualification and then a year after that I became a Zumba Instructor. They always say let your passions and hobbies make money for you.
When I have down time, I like to chill out at home with my cats and if my husband is there, him too! Fitness is part of my whole but does not dominate my whole. I am an avid Star Trek, Pokemon and Marvel fan too. I enjoy reading and gaming, which is normally Pokemon games. I’m just a giant child at heart.
What I Do
Other qualifications I have are Aerobics, Indoor Cycling and Circuits but my favourite in Strong Nation which comes from the same people who bring us Zumba. I have recently obtained my Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching and Fitness making a Level 4 Personal Trainer and also my Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching and Development.
One thing I have always said to myself is to “Live now the way no one else will. To live later the way no one else can” This can be something different to so many people. For me, it means push now and succeed no mater the cost because later, the rewards will be worth the wait. One of the other quotes I live by is: “Winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win”.

Zumba
Dance to great music with likeminded people and burn loads of calories without realizing it. Zumba is a fitness party with a contagious blend of Latin and International rhythms providing a fun and effective workout. Each session involves highly choreographed movements set to upbeat music. So, if you are uncoordinated, have two left feet or just love to dance, book in and laugh and dance through the class.

Strong Nation
Combining body weight, muscle conditioning and cardio moves synced to original music. Strong Nation is designed to help you push your limits, syncing each move to the beat.
Intensity rating: 4

Personal Training
You can book 1:1 or 1:2 personal training for adults. Suitable for everyone regardless of age or experience.
