Personal Training

Elevate your fitness journey with our individual and couple gym training programs. We provide coaching and training sessions designed for individuals, couples, or friends. There are many benefits of using our personal trainers. Our tailored training programs are designed for individuals or couples with busy lives; we take the hassle out of the planning, allowing you to show up, follow the plan, and leave knowing that your hard work is leading to the results you desire. By entrusting your fitness journey to one of our personal trainers, you can focus on your workouts without the stress of figuring everything out on your own. Moreover, accountability is a key aspect of our service. Once you've booked and paid for your session, skipping it becomes less of an option, ensuring you stay committed to your fitness goals. We understand that many people have specific needs that might be challenging to incorporate into a training regimen. By allowing a personal trainer to take care of this task, you can streamline your progress and make significant strides in your fitness or recovery journey. Having someone to guide and reassure you during your training sessions can be crucial in fostering a positive, motivational mindset. Finally our approach encourages confidence in the gym environment, helping you feel at ease as you work towards your personal fitness goals.

Join our open group training sessions that deliver the benefits of personal training in a supportive, small group environment. Run over a rolling monthly block, you’ll follow progressive programs designed to inspire and challenge you. Our members are friendly, humorous, and come from various experience levels, creating a non-judgmental atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Whether you’re looking to meet new friends or prefer to focus on your fitness surrounded by smiling faces, our sessions are perfect for everyone. Choose either PAYG or monthly blocks starting from £10.
All our SGPT sessions are a fire category but the intensity level depends on which group you book onto. Below you can discover which group offers the right kind of training for you.
SGPT: Base - This group focuses on learning and practicing the weight lifting fundamentals along with a few challenges and fun activities thrown in. If you want to focus on technique and improving your overall strength then this group is for you. It's a perfect starting point for complete beginners, those returning to weights after a break and the perfectionists out there! It has an intensity rating of 2.
SGPT: Uplift - This group focus is solely on strength training. Following programmes that will develop your overall strength using traditional methods. You will get to practice the compound lifts and learn some new ones along the way. This group is an excellent allrounder suitable for all. It has an intensity rating of 3.
SGPT: Force - This group uses strength and conditioning methods. You will follow programmes that will include exercises that develop power, speed, strength, mobility, core stability, anaerobic and aerobic fitness. It works best if you have some gym experience already but if you're game anyone can do it with some guidance. It has an intensity rating of 4.
SGPT: 60 - You guessed it! This group is designed for the over 60's. You will learn and practice the weight lifting fundamentals while following programmes specfically designed with older adults in mind. Alongside some strength training you will also work on improving your core stability, balance, co-ordination, mobility and cardio vascular fitness. If you're not quite 60 don't worry we don't check passports. It has an intensity rating of 2.
Small Group Personal Training


Classes






At Cybele we want to offer classes that cater for different people, different goals and different moods. We believe that intuitive movement creates a sustainable more enjoyable way to practice physical activity. Selecting activities based on how they make you feel are just as important as the health benefits they provide. Choose either PAYG or small blocks starting from £8.
Starting a new class or group can be daunting. You may ask yourself “Am I fit enough?” “What if I’m the slowest?” “What if I can’t do it or even like it?” “Am I too old?” “What about my injury?” It is perfectly normal to feel this way and our instructors and coaches know that embarking on something new is a challenge in itself. They will always be there with a reassuring smile and some kind words of encouragement. We are social beings and we thrive as part of a community but sometimes we need a little help getting to know our surroundings and fellow humans. Part of your instructors or coaches role is to make you feel welcomed, introduce you to the group and make you feel comfortable so you can just be yourself.
At Cybele we want to remove as many barriers as possible to get you through our door with no feelings of anxiety or ‘what if’s’. With this in mind we have put a class timetable together that not only gives you a variety of activities but also clearly says what to expect. You can then select the right class for you and remove the uncertainty. Our classes and groups are placed into 1 of 4 categories based on the type of activity and how they will make you feel. They are also given an intensity rating so you will know how hard you will be working. A balanced lifestyle is better if it includes physical activity from all intensity types.
Intensity can mean different things depending on the type of class/group you are doing. This might include:

Load (how much weight you will lift).

Tempo (the speed you will be moving).

Rest (how many opportunities and duration for recovery).

Technique (how challenging the moves or exercises will be).
As well as the activity type and intensity each class/group will have a description. This will give you more details about the class/group. It will include an outline of the activity, the health benefits, any equipment you will use and how it can be scaled to be as inclusive as possible. You can even book a chat with the instructor or coach to discuss any considerations you feel you may need. They will be happy to advise you.
Because our class sizes are small the instructor or coach can always adapt their class/group based on those attending and they will guide you to work at the most appropriate intensity for you. However, it’s good to know in advance what to expect so that you get the best experience possible. Because we know the best motivator to continue doing something is enjoyment!
Class Types
Fire
A fire class/group focus is on strength and power. The blast of endorphins from this class/group will energise you and evoke feelings of empowerment and confidence. The use of resistance weight will challenge the capabilities of your body and mind.
Air
An air class/group focus is on creativity and energy. This class will hone into how your body and mind communicates and will give you a sense of freedom through movement and expression. The high tempo nature of this class will give you a feeling of accomplishment and pride.
Water
A water class/group focus is on regeneration and healing. This class/group is your opportunity to have a change in pace and focus on your body’s recovery. The flowing nature of this class/group will give you a feeling of clarity and mindfulness.
Earth
An earth class/group focus is on stability and nourishment. This class/group is all about making you feel grounded and secure while redirecting your thoughts towards your health and wellbeing. Connecting with a deeper sense of movement.
Intensity Rating
1 – Light effort.
2 – Moderate effort.
3 – Moderate to vigorous effort.
4 – Vigorous effort.
5 – Very hard to maximum effort.

Anyone who uses our services at Cybele will also be given access to our open gym sessions. You will be able to book a time slot to come in and train independently under the watchful eye of one of our personal trainers. So, if you do need a little help, spot or encouragement we will have your back.
Open gym sessions are limited to 4 people at a time so it will never be crowded and you're likely to know the other gym users too. You can either PAYG or choose a monthly option for this service, prices start from £5. The best bit is because you book and pay in advance this increases your accountability so no more dipping out like you used to with membership based gyms.
