"People don't remember what you said or did. They remember how you made them feel"

Wondering Who We Are?
Based in Ashburton, Devon we are a community of health, fitness and wellbeing professionals flipping the script on fitness, strength empowerment and soul alignment. Together we provide a client centred approach, putting people before profit. Not only offering support for your physical needs but creating a safe space to be heard and seen.

Our Story
Cybele is the innovation of owner and coach Nicola Poole. She has been practising the Cybele philosophy for years and after working in commercial gyms where she felt didn't offer all people a positive experience she decided to go out on her own. The backbone of the Cybele ethos is a space where women will immediately feel at home, be comfortable enough to move, dress, laugh and behave as their authentic self. To create a gym that doesn’t feel like a traditional gym. A space for everybody; possessing a strong sense of community with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. A place that represents every day, hard working people where they can celebrate what their bodies are capable of through curiosity, strength and enjoyment.

Our Ethos
Cybele's key principle is that we are a health at every size facility.
We believe that everyone has the right to enjoy physical activity in whatever capacity they feel is right for them without judgement or stigma.
We encourage the health promoting behaviours of exercise within a holistic framework for overall well being.
We accept and respect the inherent diversity of body shapes and sizes and reject the idealising of specific weights, trends or western beauty standards.
We advocate flexible, individualised eating based on hunger, satiety, nutritional needs, and pleasure, rather than eating plans focused on weight control.
So, what does this mean for you?
It means we have created a space where you have the freedom to move, explore, fail, learn and have fun without fear of judgement, stigma or bias.
Your body is an amazing thing. It can do amazing things. It's your vessel to explore, nourish and challenge and we want to help you do that.
