Welcome to Cybele Gym in Ashburton, Devon. Below you will find our class and SGPT timetable along with a description of each one. Prices start from £8 and are 45-60mins. If you would like to find out more about an individual class please contact the instructor taking it.

How Do I Book?
Once you have decided which great class or group you want to join you then need to contact the instructor directly to book your slot. This can be done by email, phone or in some cases through their own booking page. We use this system because our coaches and instructors are freelance and have their own established businesses. That way you know your money goes to support a local business. Below you will find the contact link for all the instructors to make it easier.

Small Group Personal Training (SGPT)
Base
Ready to get stronger, confident and empowered?
This group is all about mastering the basics of weight training with a side of challenges and fun to keep things fresh. Whether you're here to fine-tune your technique, build strength, or just get moving again, you're in the right place. It's the perfect launchpad for total beginners, comeback queens, and anyone who loves getting the details just right. Let’s lift smart, move strong, and have a blast doing it!

Uplift
Ready to lift, laugh and level up?
This group is for intermediate lifters who want to level up their free weight game with a side of sass. You’ll follow smart, progressive programmes rooted in classic strength training, from squats to presses to “wait, that’s a muscle?” Expect compound lifts, new moves, and a whole lot of “heck yes” energy. It’s an all-rounder with bite: welcoming, challenging, and designed to help you get confident with free weights while still laughing through the lunges..

Force
Train like an athlete. Move like yourself.
This isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about building power, confidence, and joy in movement. Our strength and conditioning sessions blend athletic training with real-life adaptability.
You’ll follow progressive programmes that develop:

Welcome to our over-60s strength training group—where age is just a number and movement is for life. Whether you're new to lifting or returning to it, you'll learn the fundamentals of weight training in a supportive, energising environment. Our programmes are thoughtfully designed for older adults, with a focus on building strength, improving balance, core stability, coordination, mobility, and cardiovascular fitness.
We believe in training smart, moving joyfully, and celebrating what your body can do. Not quite 60? No worries—we don’t check passports. If you’re ready to feel stronger, more confident, and connected, you’re in the right place.

Fitness Classes
Circuits
The focus of this class is to improve whole body muscular endurance, strength and cardiovascular fitness. It combines your favourite resistance exercises alongside timed intervals of work and rest. Each instructor brings their own style and uniqueness to their class. It's designed to be challenging but you are very welcome to rest, skip or stop at any time and your instructor will scale exercises as well.

Zumba
Dance to great music with likeminded people. Zumba is a fitness party with a contagious blend of Latin and International rhythms providing a fun and effective workout. Each session involves highly choreographed movements set to upbeat music. So, if you are uncoordinated, have two left feet or just love to dance, book in, laugh and dance through the class.

Strong Nation
Combining body weight, muscle conditioning and cardio moves synced to original music. Strong Nation is designed to help you push your limits, syncing each move to the beat.

Kettlebells
Kettlebell training is a great dynamic exercise that when performed correctly can have an amazing effect on fitness, posture, speed, strength and power. And they are fantastic fun as well! If time is short, they are one of the best pieces of equipment to challenge and develop your brain, heart and all your muscles!

Movement Classes
Mindful Menopause
This class is based on the latest research about the most effective exercise practices for women in peri, post & menopause - though it’s open to everyone. Expect a mix of dynamic exercises & varied movement focusing on short, high intensity bursts of activity. These are designed to get your heart pumping, your body moving and feeling strong. Towards the end of the class, we will slow things right down to allow for a deep and restorative warm down - ensuring that you nurture both your body and your mind at this time of transition.

Stretch & Mobilise
Give your body the attention it deserves with this strong yet effective class designed to improve flexibility, increase joint mobility and release body tension. Using carefully guided stretches and mindful movement, you’ll create more ease in your body, support your posture and enhance overall physical wellbeing.
This is a perfect class to complement all of your training while helping you move more comfortably and confidently in everyday life.

Move Well
Move with confidence, ease and purpose in this inclusive class designed for mature movers and and anyone looking for extra support in their body. Move Well blends gentle stretches, mobility exercises and functional movement patterns to improve flexibility, balance, coordination and overall strength.
Perfect for anyone looking to stay active, recover from injury, or simply move better in everyday life helping you feel steadier, stronger and more confident every day.

Pilates
Beginner / intermediate Mat Pilates.
Whatever your current training background or goals, Pilates can help you build a strong foundation that makes everyday activities and sports performance more efficient. It can also improve mental wellbeing by releasing stresses from the mind and body through guided, low impact movements and controlled breathing. Done regularly and correctly, Pilates has the power to strengthen and stabilise your core, improve muscular imbalances, posture and co-ordination, and help with joint mobility, flexibility and range of movement. In short, get the fundamentals right and you’ll have a strong foundation for any movement in life! These classes are suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, with sclaing of exercises provided to enable you to get the most from each class.
