Hi, I'm Edie. Personal Trainer & Physiotherapist

Hello, my name is Edie and I am a qualified Physiotherapist and Personal Trainer, passionate about helping people move well, age well, and stay connected to the things that make life feel meaningful. I created this service because I wanted to combine the knowledge and experience I’ve gained in both professions to support people in a way that feels realistic, supportive and empowering.

Working within the NHS has shown me first hand just how important strength, mobility and fitness are — not only for performance, but for recovering from illness or injury, managing long-term health conditions, and maintaining independence as we get older. One thing I hear far too often is “I’m too old to exercise,” and I truly believe that movement is something everyone deserves to benefit from, at every stage of life.

Whether you are training for a specific sporting goal, rebuilding confidence after injury, managing a long-term condition, or simply wanting everyday life to feel easier, my focus is always the same: helping you build a strong, resilient body that supports the life you want to live.

I’m far more interested in helping people feel capable than simply look fit. For me, movement should enhance life — not consume it. I want exercise to feel accessible, enjoyable and sustainable, rather than intimidating or punishing.
The phrase “movement is medicine” is one I come back to often. My goal is to help you move with confidence, feel stronger and more energised, and ultimately live without limits.

My Story

Movement has always been a huge part of my life, although I didn’t necessarily grow up feeling naturally confident within traditional sport and fitness environments. I found my love for movement through horse riding and spending time outdoors, exploring the open moors that I’m lucky enough to call home in Devon.

These days, I would describe myself as a “bit of everything” person. I enjoy resistance training, running, road cycling, Pilates and HYROX-style training, but my approach to fitness has become much more balanced over time. I value movement not just for performance, but for how it supports my physical and mental wellbeing, my energy levels, and my future health.

A big part of what motivates me is thinking about “future me.” I want to stay active enough to enjoy the things I love for as long as possible — whether that’s being outdoors, caring for the people around me, or maintaining my independence later in life. That perspective shapes how I coach others too.

Outside of work and training, I’m at my happiest when I’m outdoors, recharging in the quietness of Devon. My perfect day involves a long walk along the South West Coast Path with my two dogs, Arlo and Milo, ideally ending with a good pub lunch and a spritz in the sunshine! Despite the landscape that surrounds us meaning so much to me, what matters most is spending time with the ones I love, making memories with my family and friends, whether that’s enjoying a good coffee, hostessing-with-the-mostessing for them or just generally sharing countryside life. I believe health and fitness should fit around your life — not take you away from it.

What I Do

At the heart of my coaching is people. While my background as a Physiotherapist gives me a strong understanding of biomechanics, injury prevention and rehabilitation, I believe the most important part of helping someone progress is communication, trust and feeling genuinely supported.

I know that starting exercise, returning after injury, or walking into a gym environment can feel intimidating for many people. That’s why I place huge value on creating a space where clients feel listened to, understood and never judged. I want sessions to feel encouraging, collaborative and realistic — somewhere you can build confidence as well as strength.

My approach is shaped both by my experience within the NHS and by my own relationship with movement over the years. I have seen first hand how maintaining strength, mobility and fitness can completely change someone’s quality of life, recovery and independence. Equally, I understand that exercise should fit around your life, not take it over. Movement should enhance life — not consume it.

I’m far more interested in helping people feel capable, energised and connected to the things they love than chasing perfection or unrealistic standards. Whether your goal is reducing pain, improving confidence in the gym, keeping up with your children or grandchildren, returning to a hobby you’ve missed, or training towards an event, my aim is to help you build a body that supports you through every stage of life.

I take a genuinely client-centred approach and will always meet you where you are. Some days that may mean pushing your limits and celebrating progress; other days it may mean adapting around fatigue, stress or life circumstances. I believe long-term success comes from consistency, enjoyment and feeling safe enough to trust the process.
Above all, I want clients to leave sessions feeling reassured, supported and proud of themselves — knowing they are becoming stronger not just physically, but in confidence too.
