Strength & Conditioning Coach and Personal Trainer

I am the owner of Cybele Gym and Inspired Coaching. I describe myself as a health at every size personal trainer and S&C coach where understanding, acceptance and empathy underpins what I do. I help my client's become confident, strong and independent gym goers by creating a positive, safe and enjoyable environment to train in.
I believe that strength and conditioning training is the most effective way to achieve sustainable performance, health and well being goals. I specialise in older adults, juniors, women and sports performance training. I offer individual, couple and small group training.
On a personal level, I have been weight training for over 20 years, my passion is powerlifting which I have competed at an international level. Although retired now I still enjoy my own weight training and find new challenges for myself. I also love exploring Devon with my sidekick Roxy the rescue dog.


My Story
My love affair with weight training started when I stepped into my first gym at 16. From there I got into body building until I discovered I had a talent for powerlifting at 24. I have been National Champion numerous times and represented GB on the European and World stage. While doing this I worked as a PE teacher until I qualified as a personal trainer in 2014. I then extended my professional qualifications by becoming a Level 4 strength and conditioning coach and gained my tutor/assessor award. I am now embarking on the journey as gym owner which excites me tremendously. My entire professional career has lead me this point and I'm looking forward to what it may bring.
Outside the gym and work I call myself a champion of animals. As well as being a vegan I also volunteer and fundraise for local and European animal rescues. In 2023, I raised over £2000 for charity by trekking through Madagascar. I also dabble in some crafting. Crochet, card making and sewing are my favourites.
What I Do
Although I take your fitness journey seriously I still believe in having a great time too. The greatest motivator is enjoyment and although I do understand that not everyone 'loves' exercise or gyms I do find my relaxed and not too serious attitude helps my clients find joy and laughter in what they do. I design programmes that fit into people's lifestyles and make them relevant and challenging but also throw in some fun too. As a Level 4 strength and conditioning coach, I create tailored training programs that cater for everyone - from novices to seasoned lifters; children to older adults. My favourite catchphrase is 'Fit For Purpose' My training gets you conditioned for whatever is important to you. That may be a sport, hobby, job or longevity. I empower women, athletes, and juniors to achieve their fitness goals through proven methodologies. My focus extends beyond just strength training; using the health at every size ethos I also place well-being at the heart of what I do, helping you find joy in movement and confidence in your body. Together, we will unlock your full potential and elevate your fitness experience.

My Services

Personal Training
You can book 1:1, 1:2 or shared personal training for adults and children over the age of 7. Suitable for everyone regardless of age or experience. Prices start from £25 for shared & £38 for individuals/couples.

Strength and Conditioning
You can book 1:1 or 1:2 S&C coaching for adults and children over 12. Perfect for athletes of all ages or those recovering from injury. Prices start from £38.

SGPT: Force
You will follow S&C programmes that will include exercises that develop power, speed, strength, mobility, core stability, anaerobic and aerobic fitness. It works best if you have some gym experience already but if you're game anyone can do it with some guidance. It has an intensity rating of 4. Prices start from £10.
